One step closer with the 1988 Firecracker Red/Polar White KR-1. An OEM KR-1 (Part 560501082) fairing decal came up for grabs and it seemed like a good opportunity to snap it up for colour comparisons against some old original sunburned bodywork. Reproducing the Lime Green 1989 KR-1 was a real challenge but the experience gained might help with getting this bike restored. Read more about KR-1 Lower Cowling Decal Part 560501082
Admittedly, this is one of the most enjoyable parts of restoring old bikes. A small part of the weekend was spent sorting through all of the electroplated nuts, bolts and metal plates so that they are all easily accessible when the assembly starts.
